I only know about it because i watched a few episode of the atrocious reality show starring the two of them. Feldman found out that Haim was in talks to make a sequel and pitched a fit because he hadn't been asked. seems they smoothed out his delicate feathers.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I watched Into the Wild last night. So glad I didn't know the story or read the book. I enjoyed it much more than any other Sean Penn directed movie I've ever seen.
The casting was top notch. I think Emile Hirsch carried the film very well.
that is a beautiful movie. Hal Holbrook broke my heart.
I read the book. I don't know if I want to watch the movie. I saw parts of it while it was at my theatre. I find the story very frustrating. I want Chris McCandless to tell us, "why".
tiggy, Catherine Keener and Hal Holbrook broke me in that. I felt compelled to keep watching the movie even if I didn't necessarily "get it" because the characters were so interesting.
The why of it at the end (and why Chris didn't make further attempts to escape and get to civilization before he reached his weakened state) boggles my mind but I think reconstructing his stories from his journals, we can only speculate as to his motives.
Catherine Keener
Bwuh? I didn't know she was in that! Now I have to rent it. Major girlcrush on CK.
She's great in it. Not a fan of the film, though. Although I thought the performances and the directing were amazing, I really disliked self-righteous, heedless Chris McCandless and felt bad for all the people he hurt along his journey.
I didn't know anything about that film going in. It really, really upset me. I'm an idiot like McCandless in many ways, it turned out.

That's why I can't watch that movie (or Grizzly Man, for that matter).
Unsurprisingly, Grizzly Man is on my list of favourite movies.
