But? There's always a but. When this is over, can we have a big 'but' moratorium?

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

That's the sort of woolly-headed liberal thinking that leads to being eaten.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Don't listen to him. He's just trying to fleece you.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I just enjoy hearing the lamb-entations of the pun averse.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Man, Frank, that's exactly how I felt about The Science of Sleep. However, it did inspire this video.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Oh I love Science of Sleep. I've never seen a more accurate depiction of how a dream feels onscreen. And I love the way the relationship develops and then gets turned on its head by the end. Just love it.

That's exactly how I felt about it. So enjoyable, and the quirkiness felt vital to the story rather than being tacked on just for the hell of it. And I think I liked the art direction even better than that of Pan's Labyrinth.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I finally saw August Rush and in a giant instance of predictableness I loved and and thought it to be one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen.
