But it had a menacing giant bunny. What's not to love?
Someday I will watch Donnie Darko, and that viewing will probably be motivated entirely by the need to see the giant menacing bunny.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Add me to the list of people who preferred the original theatrical release.
Watchmen set video at Superhero Hype. I'm starting to feel like maybe the picture is in good hands after all.
Isn't that what the arbiter of art would always do, Corwood?
You know it.
I thoroughly enjoyed Donnie Darko. Dark, weird, and Mary McDonnell! Southland Tales was a mess, but it was an interesting-to-watch mess.
Speaking of incoherent, we just watched "The Science of Sleep."
What the hell?
The Science of Sleep was not the wacky fantastical and wonderful journey I thought it was going to be. I was more "meh" than "WTH?", because I just didn't care enough, and mildly annoyed that I had watched it through to the end.
I know this is late to the party, but is Closer (Julia Roberts, Clive Owen, Jude Law, natalie Portman), a bad, boring movie, or was I just in a bad mood. I think I am lowbrow, because I enjoyed my other movie pick Just Like Heaven , a fluffy romantic comedy of the "she's a spirit" genre, much much more! It was adorable, although I can't believe the box said "copyright 2006", as the phones they were using in it were HUGE!
Oh I love Science of Sleep. I've never seen a more accurate depiction of how a dream feels onscreen. And I love the way the relationship develops and then gets turned on its head by the end. Just love it.
Hated Closer (I need to be able to root for somebody in a story) and I found Just Like Heaven to be delightful and fluffy and funny, which I wasn't expecting (the delightful and funny part). Of course, apples and oranges, those two movies. In fact, I think you'd need to watch a bit of fluff after a movie like Closer, even if you liked it, just to cleanse the palatte.
