I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My favorite Rickman, aside from Snape, is probably Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility.

I love the scene between him and Cate, after she's well and back at the cottage, and he's reading to her.....

Oh, god yes. I think my favorite, though, is him galloping off to get her mother when she's so ill. The desperation in his eyes! He's WONDERFUL.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I've watched many a movie of dubious quality for the sake of Alan Rickman. Mesmer. Close My Eyes. An Awfully Big Adventure. OK, I have a weird fondness for that last one, mostly because Hugh Grant cheeses it up, playing a giant jackass, and Rickman's character is so freakin' tormented.

His IMDb trivia page says Richard Curtis badly wanted Rickman to play Charles, the main character in Four Weddings and a Funeral. Huh. I'm having trouble picturing it, but it makes me sad because I think it'd have been fun to see him turning up the charm.
