Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Per the spoiler: been there, done that, didn't buy it the first time.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm not sure about Speed Racer, but definitely the other three!

The Speed Racer trailer I saw at the theaters was Fucking Awesome. t /MM

Visually it was just so spectacular. It was like putting Tokyo at night into a syringe and shooting it directly into your veins.

Also Cristina Ricci looked supercute as Trixie.

From Muggle.net - posted 2 days ago:

HBP Mix: No Fiennes, McCrory Filming, Crew in Norway

A few stories relating to the production of Half-Blood Prince have appeared online today.

- Ralph Fiennes, the actor who plays Lord Voldemort in the Potter films, has revealed in an interview with Ain't It Cool News that he won't be appearing in the sixth film. When asked about if he is signed for Deathly Hallows, he says "not yet."

- On ITV's This Morning, Damian Lewis (Helen McCrory's husband) revealed that Helen is filming her scenes as Narcissa Malfoy this week. Damian said she was "extremely excited" and is following blogs that are also excited.

I hadn't realized that Damian Lewis' wife was cast as Narcissa!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

She was supposed to be Bellatrix, but had to drop when she got up the duff. Or so I heard somewhere.

Yeah, I've seen the trailer. There was a monkey.

Visually it was just so spectacular.

It's the Wachowskis!

Also Cristina Ricci looked supercute as Trixie.

She also looks cute with a pig nose.

I'm interested in Matthew Fox as Racer X. That looks fun. Evil Jack!

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Helen McCrory

She was originally set to star as Bellatrix then became pregnant with Lewis' baby, which is why that role went to HBC. McCrory is a fine actress, but I have trouble imagining her as an icy blonde. The last movie of hers I watched was as Tony Blair's wife in The Queen.
