Also, you can tell it's not gonna have a happy ending when the main guy's all bumpy.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

And WTF with the really ugly animals in Peter and the Wolf?

Yeah, I really didn't like the animation style in that one - the motions were jerky and awkward, and the character design was just ugly. DH thinks it has a shot at the Oscar. I think he's nuts.

Have you (or anyone) seen the live action shorts? We were supposed to see both on Saturday, but got shut out of the Academy screening (we'll save my rant on how having people RSVP via phone and making the line first-come-first-served is THE DUMBEST THING EVER for another day) so we went downtown and saw the Magnolia Pictures release of just the animated shorts instead.

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters tonight. Lots of fun!

Yay! I loved that movie.

Art Crawl!!!

Ha! Heath Ledger was so good that it's taking three actors to take his place in Imaginarium : Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law.

Oh, it's by Spike Jonze and Dave Eggers. That explains it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Strange and offputting.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Moriarty says he's seen the movie, and there's something odd/wrong about that clip. Like it has the wrong actor's voice or something.
