Wow, you've really mastered the power of positive giving-up.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

IIRC, Dick was surprisingly historical.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OMG love Dick so much!!!

Does your GF know this?

Sorry. That was too easy. Your post was just lying there....

Ann, that's a ferret.

lcat, maybe All the King's Men. And Talk of the Town may get a little esoteric, and it involves State courts and not Federal, but it has a lot to say about law as a set of principles vs. law as a way to deal with specific situations.

Part of the problem is, the way the Federal government works is usually not the stuff that good movies are made of.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I knew I left myself open for that one.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I knew I left myself open for that one.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

More Hobbit news:

Guillermo del Toro is in talks to direct back-to-back installments of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit," which is being co-financed by New Line and MGM.

Squee!

(This seems firmer than the previous reports of "Hey, Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro know each other, right?" Of course, everything's on hold until the strike ends...)
