[NOTE: I am not proselytizing; I just wanted to clear up what seems to be a misperception about the bible. If you've read the whole thing, then I apologize for over-explaining.]
I think everybody here is well aware of the fact that I'm no proselyte, but even I can read and comprehend the Bible better than these idiots can.
And I think I even got you beat on the over-explaining with my last post, Steph.
Christians who misquote and miscomprehend the Bible bug the crap out of me. Especially when they're hate-filled jerks like these guys.
And I think I even got you beat on the over-explaining with my last post, Steph.
Yes, but did you see? I declared my love for you because of your overexplaining!
I haven't, Steph L.
It gets a lot less bloody and stone-y after that JC guy shows up.
Sean, man, I love you.
Thanks, babe. I thought you'd appreciate that post.
Lewis Black does a great bit on the Old and New Testaments in "Red, White, and Screwed." I rewatched it last night. I still need to have his babies.

Okay, note to ourselves: sometimes we post over each other. Also HEE!!

Heh. You think we talk too fast? No! Surely not! No!
If you read the whole thing, it makes a radical change in the middle.
And just so we're clear, modern Jews aren't so much about the stoning kids either.
Just so we're clear.
"In this day and age of 24-hour cable crap, devoted to feeding the voyeuristic gluttony of the American public, hooked on a bad soap opera that's passing itself off as important, don't you think you might be able to find some relevance in verse 21? How do you end the cycle? Be subject to one another!"
Sigh. I miss that man.
What can I do to be subject to you, Aimee? (Or Steph, or any of the rest of you, really)

*smooch*

Are so. I saw it happen once. Right over there.

Yeah, the other thought I had, but didn't include in that previous post is that the Phelps' seem to have glossed over the fact that Leviticus isn't really speaking to them as Christians (what with the whole Jesus thing), and even modern Jews have decided there's wiggle room and space for interpretation of Leviticus through modern eyes.
