The future of Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is in question now that Heath Ledger is dead.
Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Man, Gilliam can't win for losing these days.
In other movie-related news, is it strange that the Oscar race I find myself caring most about is Best Original Song?
Not to me. Rooting for "Happy Working Song" is the only stake I have in the Academy Awards this year.
The Westboro Baptist Church will picket Ledger's funeral: [link]
I really kind of hate those people.
I really kind of hate those people.
There's no "kind of" about it for me.
I think we should set them on fire, let them get a taste of what they suppose is happening to other people.
After we fuck 'em in the ass. With bamboo.
With bamboo
Stake them out over live bamboo. It grows a foot a day.
Shitheads.
If they ever picket the funeral of someone dear to me, you guys will take up a collection to bail me out of jail, right?
I... didn't know comment threads could go to 45 pages. That's impressive.
The real question is though, while they're picketing Ledger's funeral, will they also picket Jake Gyllenhaal's... whatever he happens to be doing at the time? Somehow I doubt they would get nearly the attention if they yammered at live people, who could just turn around and moon them.
If they ever picket the funeral of someone dear to me, you guys will take up a collection to bail me out of jail, right?
No.
How the hell am I supposed to bail you out when I'm gonna be right next to you?
Think before you ask these questions, Matt.
