And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I try to only pay for sparkling water (you will pry my weekly seltzer delivery from my cold dead hands), but I'm also lucky to live in a party of the country with really good tap water. The Brita filter in my fridge is more about keeping the water cold than making it tasty.

(And yeah, tap water isn't actually FREE. Water for the building is a big part of my monthly maintenance fee. If I owned my own detached home, I'd be paying the utility directly. Granted, the majority of that isn't drinking water, but still.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Not quite as pretty as the steampunk laptop, but still very pretty.

I was feeling guilty about the waste aspect of small bottles of water that we were buying, so we switched to large containers and we refill smaller, reusable bottles that we keep on hand in the fridge. I'm thinking we should buy a filter for the faucet and go to tap. It does seem wasteful to me. The only issue is that we need to have water on hand in case of an earthquake.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Free water in my tap at home doesn't do me much good in the car, or on an airplane, or out for a run. It's not usually cold enough, and depending on where you are, the taste can be a crap shoot.

Brenda's right. People aren't as irrational as this constant tap vs. bottled water argument would have one think. Portable, safe, cold water for a dollar or so is a bargain.

I think buying a bottle of water while you're on the go is totally fine. It's doing it at home when you have other options that don't involve plastic every time.

As a big fan of Chicagoland's access to Lake Michigan water, I'm a big advocate for drinking out of the tap, but I do find that other places have pretty nasty tasting H2O and I'll search out some bottled water in those cases.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Oh, my god, there are people with a JACKHAMMER outside of my house. I'm going to go insane.

The piercing beep of the garbage truck woke me up, and while I was in the bathroom getting ready for work, there was such an unusual uproar of barking animals that I actually checked my watch in case homicide detectives come around again.

What the din, man?

I have to admit, I really can't see myself buying huge pallets of bottled water for everyday consumption as many of my friendshere do, short of the water supply getting contaminated. Even then, if a small filter'd work, I'd prefer that. And it isn't really high & mighty principles:

1. I'd be overrun by bottles (I drink 2+ liters a day.) And I'm not telling you how many plastic water and soda bottles are batting around the car from when I've run out of water when I was out and about. 2. That shit is HEAVY. I'm not hauling it to the car, then up the stairs...No. 3. Where the hell would I store it? I don't have anyplace to stash the volume of water I consume weekly. I've already got gallons of emergency water for when the water goes out temporarily atop the cabinets . 4. That's expensive. I mean, c'mon. I'm the cheapskate who carries an empty waterbottle through security and fills it up at the drinking fountain on the other side. Like I'm gonna pay if I can avoid it?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

LA water is not tasty. I filter it all at home-for drinking (and ice) and cooking. I buy Smart Water by the boxful because I drink it when exercising. And beefing up on electrolytes is recommended to help against migraines. I mightily prefer Smart Water to Pedialyte or sports drinks.
