Warm and affirming stories with dirty words in them! I was thinking about that as I was contemplating reading some out loud in the car with my parents and grandmother. I guess I can edit as I go.
How the fuck is it July and I have three things on a Tuesday at 9 that I want to watch on TV?? I mean, not that I'm complaining.
The Vanity Fair story about Barbaro that Peter Berg is supposed to be adapting for a movie. (It's written by his cousin sound familiar FNL fans?)
I had to teach a partner how to search their emails in outlook today. This explains a lot.
Oh... cursing. Thought maybe some fangirl took her top off.
Nah, just the salty language. And for some, not even that salty. Says the girl whose kids will probably swear like stevedores.
Says the girl whose kids will probably swear like stevedores.
What's a stevedore?
t /can't resist these things
I didn't even know that Amyliz had a book coming out!
Umm, I really really hate to rain on parades, but people, please PLEASE
PLEASE
PLEASE
don't move books to other places in bookstores. Just don't. Stop.
Face things out, awesome. Surreptitiously bump things closer to eye level than the alphabet would properly allow, probably not going to be a problem. But when you move things to another part of the store, you're fucking with the minimum-wage part-timer whose job it is to clean up after you at midnight (because, believe me, the corporate-level buyer who ordered the display table really doesn't care, but that 7-bucks-an-hour dude can't leave until the display tables are "fixed"), and
way more importantly
you're making it impossible for the next person who comes in through the cafe entrance and heads straight for the info desk to ask for it by name to get any better info than "I'm sorry, it looks like it's gone missing."
(eta: rant finally boiled over at a habit I've seen referenced here and elsewhere for years now, not at any one person in particular.)
commute home was 2 non-working trains. I was stuck underground in a non-air-conditioned car that eventually went out of service and I had to walk to another train. Was late picking up mac, even though I ran from the train, so now I have a warning in my file (2 and they can kick you out of the program).
good side - mac was in a really wonderful mood for like the first time in a week. no fights all evening.
now I have work to do. BAH!
