Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Umm, I really really hate to rain on parades, but people, please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't move books to other places in bookstores. Just don't. Stop.

Face things out, awesome. Surreptitiously bump things closer to eye level than the alphabet would properly allow, probably not going to be a problem. But when you move things to another part of the store, you're fucking with the minimum-wage part-timer whose job it is to clean up after you at midnight (because, believe me, the corporate-level buyer who ordered the display table really doesn't care, but that 7-bucks-an-hour dude can't leave until the display tables are "fixed"), and way more importantly you're making it impossible for the next person who comes in through the cafe entrance and heads straight for the info desk to ask for it by name to get any better info than "I'm sorry, it looks like it's gone missing."

(eta: rant finally boiled over at a habit I've seen referenced here and elsewhere for years now, not at any one person in particular.)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

commute home was 2 non-working trains. I was stuck underground in a non-air-conditioned car that eventually went out of service and I had to walk to another train. Was late picking up mac, even though I ran from the train, so now I have a warning in my file (2 and they can kick you out of the program).

good side - mac was in a really wonderful mood for like the first time in a week. no fights all evening.

now I have work to do. BAH!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I just got carded going into a bar. The bouncer was on a cellphone, and I didn't understand what he said to me and assumed it was part of his cell conversation. He had to stop me. When I understood what he wanted, I commented that I haven't been carded in years. Apparently they're carding everyone now, regardless of how old they look?

Also, the bar was out of two of the ingredients for a cosmopolitan. So what I ended up with is something just vaguely cosmopolitan-like... ish...

Oh well - at least they have free wifi (my home connection is out).

msbelle, wishing you no warnings. I've missed you. Know you are busy as hell, but missed you anyway.

FTR, I bought amyliz's book and I wouldn't read it to the childrens but enjoyed immensely. I like that.

Oh and one of my long-lost hs friends (we drifted apart until about 9 years ago) I pimped Miss Beatrice's book to? Wants an autograph, if she can manage it. Which we can manage.

sara - happy late b'day. I have been reading, just not getting around to much posting.

the only bookstore I can easily get to is not a B&N, so no Allyson book for me yet, BUT when I went to just double check in the Border's by work I saw that amyliz's book was on an endcap in the Romance section. I already have one I bought earlier (such a good fun read), but I was still pleased.

still not doing the work I need to do.

Thanks, sweetie. I'm barely taking care of myself lately, and I'm just me!
