Jessica, they are keeping him one more day, I think. He has an eye exam on Tuesday.
Oh, right - that makes sense, not moving him around too much. In that case, I'd say bring several possible going-home outfits and a camera so you can try them on him and post adorable pictures for us to coo over.
IOparentingN, I've got my fingers crossed that the A/C isn't too loud tonight for me to hear D's waking-up noises when it's time for him to eat again around midnight. (It's sooooo much easier to get him back to sleep if he doesn't wake up fully enough to start crying...)
They were giving her an Xray when lori and I got there. The nurse that was there was kind and didnt make Grace go bananas.
The y moved the line to the other side of her head, and she looks more comfy than she did the other night.
I held the door for the Xray guy to get the machine out, and he said, "thanks, mom!"
Which was weird for me.
Gracie looks so much more beautiful. Her eyes aren't all puffy today, so I could really see how delicate her features are.
It's so relaxing to hang out with her while she holds my hand (well, my finger) and looks at me.
Partially sleepy Noah seems to do better at eating then fully alert "let's party" Noah.
Has anyone here read Three Junes?
I haven't, but I'm pretty sure a friend of mine told me only one of the Junes was any good.

This is understandable. And yet still cute of the xray guy.

Thank you! She looked better this morning than she has in a while and was actually awake and interested. Concurrently, Noah had a better day. I wonder if they have a Twin Superpower thing going on. Last night they put in a new IV in her head and gave her platelets and Noah had a fussy bad feeding night.

I read it and I remember really liking it. But couldn't remember a damn thing. One of the characters from that book recurs in
The Whole World Over
which I just finished and enjoyed.
This no grad school thing means I can read again which is thrilling.
Allyson, K read your book and liked. She said you write so well.
ARE THERE PICTURES?
I have been fighting orthostatic hypotension (the room disappearing when you stand up) ALL FUCKING ASSCAPPY DAY. I thought I was done with it (I have been trying to eat consistently) but everything just went woozy again.
Physiology is so irritating.
But at least I'm not climbing trees.
NICU's really ought to include cameras as part of the standard issue stuff.
Hell, they oughta be issued to each new baby.

Please stay close to the earth and away from pointy corners while you nibble at sustenance.
That sucks.
