OK, I'm going to remember to bring my (non-digital) camera to the bookstore on Saturday so I can take a picture of my Employee Pick after I put it up.

I'm so jealous of you book-havers. I'm going to find a B&N tomorrow and I'm taking my camera with me!
I've been dorkily scanning the Internets for reviews and have even bookmarked some total stranger's blog because she posted in some other total stranger's blog about how she'd just gotten it on impulse and thought it looked right up her alley and she'd be posting a review as soon as she finished it.
Eeeeee! So crazy excited for you!
Is it only available now at BN? Is it at Borders?
I think B&N gets it earlier, GC. Borders.com (aka Amazon) still has it listed as a pre-order.
I'm having a similar problem with a plane ticket, Jesse, only I deserve it because I'm booking it late. Who knows, we may decide just to drive it, if DH can afford to take that much time off work.
This is why I'm so aggravated -- this should not be late! Stupid travelling.
So that paperdol won't cry more, I'll just link to my story and photo on my LJ.
I had to use a line on the cashier, but that's ok by me.
I'm restraining myself from sitting down and devouring it, because I haven't even had dinner yet. (Definitely later, though.)
So many congratulations!
"I'm one of the Vampire People."
Yeah, I could steal that.
So there you have it. Three interactions with B&N staff, three positive reactions.
Awesome!
My in-house B&N staffer has not brought mine home yet, because he had to work late and then get straight to the gym.
He has somewhat redeemed himself by:
- reading a fair chunk of it on his breaks all day and declaring it awesome (and asking me to pass that along to you, paperdol!);
- plotting about which coworkers would be most likely to love it and shoot their mouths off to all concerned, and pimping it to them personally;
- extracting a promise from the community relations manager (who I think is a buffista spirit baby) that they'll schedule a signing any time you're coming through town;
- ordering in more copies in advance of the sales numbers because half their copies are mysteriously on the hold shelf now....
(Also, we'll be pimping it to our gang of comics geeks at the next book group meeting, since the only thing that reliably stops us from talking about comics until after closing time is digressing on anything at all Joss-related.)
On the down side, boy needs to bring my copy home, and I don't care if he has fencing lessons scheduled tonight!
