I don't care if it is an orgy of death, there's still such a thing as a napkin.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Is it only available now at BN? Is it at Borders?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think B&N gets it earlier, GC. Borders.com (aka Amazon) still has it listed as a pre-order.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm having a similar problem with a plane ticket, Jesse, only I deserve it because I'm booking it late. Who knows, we may decide just to drive it, if DH can afford to take that much time off work.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

This is why I'm so aggravated -- this should not be late! Stupid travelling.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

So that paperdol won't cry more, I'll just link to my story and photo on my LJ.

I had to use a line on the cashier, but that's ok by me.

I'm restraining myself from sitting down and devouring it, because I haven't even had dinner yet. (Definitely later, though.)

So many congratulations!

"I'm one of the Vampire People."

Yeah, I could steal that.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

So there you have it. Three interactions with B&N staff, three positive reactions.

Awesome!

My in-house B&N staffer has not brought mine home yet, because he had to work late and then get straight to the gym.

He has somewhat redeemed himself by:

  • reading a fair chunk of it on his breaks all day and declaring it awesome (and asking me to pass that along to you, paperdol!);
  • plotting about which coworkers would be most likely to love it and shoot their mouths off to all concerned, and pimping it to them personally;
  • extracting a promise from the community relations manager (who I think is a buffista spirit baby) that they'll schedule a signing any time you're coming through town;
  • ordering in more copies in advance of the sales numbers because half their copies are mysteriously on the hold shelf now....

(Also, we'll be pimping it to our gang of comics geeks at the next book group meeting, since the only thing that reliably stops us from talking about comics until after closing time is digressing on anything at all Joss-related.)

On the down side, boy needs to bring my copy home, and I don't care if he has fencing lessons scheduled tonight!

The status is NOT quo.

I picked up my copy at Vroman's today! They're independent; I wonder how they got it already? Anyway, Ima talk one of the employees into making it a pick for their big staff picks shelf when I go in to buy a copy for my mom this weekend. Bounce!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I got mine at the B&N in downtown Evanston. The purchase was uneventful.

Am now sitting across the street from the B&N, waiting for my pizza. I suppose I could read a book to pass the time....

Uh-oh. Crazy lady at 8 o'clock. She's going on and on about "nasty filth" and whatnot. And she glared at me.

I'm pretty sure she didn't see Allyson's book, so that's probably not the subject of her ranting....
