Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

A bunch of photos of the Kwik-E-Mart (Simpsons/7-11 movie promotion) stores:

Dude, I was in that very store (Burbank) THIS MORNING. It is usually full of burly Teamsters on their way to work at the studios, but today ther were bunches of happy geeks munching pink donuts and taking pictures.

Would something like a paid-for flickr account that you'd gotten friends and family to load pics to work? With maybe a giftcard to get hardcopies of the pics?

I will never, ever, ever figure out insurance math. There's the super scary awful number and then there's a not so scary one, but I'm not sure how that's related and then there's another number which all combine to equal flipzit, which is what they want from me. Which is not a scary number but I don't believe it because I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE IT CAME FROM. And I may not need a root canal. Or I might. Depends on how optimistic you are feeling.

We have something like that in the works already, with hard copies. I'm trying to rustle up other ideas because we're all feeling pretty helpless, not being in the area.

I think I'm going to hit the used bookstore later this week and see what I can dig up.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Man, that's awful.

In news about me, I met my deadline! With hours to spare! Sweet.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I think my favorite Kwik-E-Mart thing is the KrustyO's cereal. On the box it says, "The best you can expect from a TV clown"

Dammit, there's a Kwik-E-Mart in Chicago. Where the fuck it is? [link]

It's on Oak Park, apparently. Where is that?

Art Crawl!!!

From the Trib:

Through July 31; free admission. Kwik-E-Mart (nee 7-Eleven), 6754 W. 63rd St.; www.7-11Simpsons.com or www.seeyellow.com. Just in time for "The Simpsons Movie" (opening July 27), 7-Eleven will turn 12 of its stores in the U.S. and Canada into Apu's Kwik-E-Mart — one of them in Chicago. All 7-Eleven locations will carry limited numbers of products made famous by "The Simpsons," including the doughnuts (pink with sprinkles) featured on the movie poster, KrustyO's cereal, Buzz Cola, Squishee frozen drinks and a special edition (No. 711) of the "Radioactive Man" comic book. Life-size "citizens of Springfield" also will visit the stores.

6754 W. 63rd Street. Which I don't think is Oak Park. Looks like it's out past Midway.

I meant Oak Park Ave. Which from Google maps of the above address seems to be right: [link]

Thanks.

But I don't get that far South in Chicago that often.
