What do you call those rubber things you put over cables if you have to run them across the floor? So that you can roll things over them without catching? I need to suggest one to somebody, and I can't work out how to name it.
edit: sometimes asking the question answers it, or at least provides the search terms for Google. 'Tis a cable guard.
I sure as hell hope my SIL's mother doesn't muck this up (she's been pulling some PA stuff about when she's going to visit and really pissing off SIL,) but I've bought my tickets to visit. That's going to be MY week with the boys.
My mother wanted me to visit again this summer, but that just isn't happening. She's still in Alabama, they're going to CO for a week when she gets back, I can't take leave those following weeks until I leave, then school starts up for her and.. I'd love to visit. It's just too complicated to schedule in the next couple months. I'll find out when they have a 4 day weekend this fall or something.
I guess this is why citibank cancelled my cc: [link]

For the moment at least, it appears that the data has been used mainly to send marketing solicitations to the affected individuals by the companies that bought the information, Fidelty said in its statement.
It is deathly quiet here at work. I guess that's good because I'm trying to refresh my rusty PERL skills. But it's spooky.
And I have no idea if we get to go home early, and if we do I'll probably miss the announcement since I have a doctor's appointment at lunchtime.
Okay, back to PERL.
But it's spooky.
It's been quiet all day!
I actually went to the gym and swam this morning.
::gives small thanks for the gym's daycare center::
Quiet here. So bored. Desperately resisting spending $$ at online sales, also ebay. Much better to go to mall and spend $$ on in-person sales tomorrow! It is a celebration of America, after all.
I can't parse the bat picture. No idea what's what. Definitely weird looking, though.
Nora Ephron's Six Stages of Email is pretty funny.
I almost swallowed my uvula trying not to go all COMM at Stage 3.
His left claw/wing is like a horseshoe crab, all out of proportion huge.
It's pretty quiet here today, as well, but I'm getting some stuff done, so I'm keeping busy. Friday, OTOH, is going to be deader than dead. Right now, I'm trying to figure out some stuff to do with my mom when she comes out in August. So far, I've got the Field Museum (I've been wanting to go to the Darwin exhibit, and it's been forever since I've seen the museum at all) and Millennium Park on the 15th (the orchestra's playing Beethoven's Pastorale that evening, and I do love free concerts!), one day at the Botanic Garden, and possibly a day-trip to Milwaukee.
It was quiet here until I left for 20 minutes to get lunch.
Not so quiet anymore.
I have turned my iPod on shuffle. Am attempting to beat back the hordes and am humming along to Duran Duran. Am too cranky to have shame.
