GRRRRRR. Because unless he throws a punch at someone, he's not a real man. God forbid his wife asks someone to stop saying nasty things about her dead child.
People have pointed out that they don't need Edwards to have a tough guy image (one even said if that's what got Bush elected, he'd rather have a perceived sissy man). But, he keeps ranting along.
This isn't about Coulter and landing punches and inflicting damage on her. This isn't about Republicans. This is about John Edwards and his image.
It's not a good political image right now, and the Coulter-Elizabeth fisticuffs did nothing to help him. Do you think the episode raised his stock among voters? That's my point.
Allyson, that's insane. I mean, I get a warning...but an absolute ban on being outside? Is that even legal?
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday JZ!
Happy Anniversary to Sparky and her DH!
When I called the landlord, he said we were welcome to be out back 24 hours, as long as we learned sign language to communicate between 8pm and 11am, and kept the backdoor locked (no one has keys to the back door, but we can totally walk around to the front).
The notice apparently says something different, though. That we're simply not allowed back there.
I'm totally accepting responsibilty. The night I got my ARCs, we were out there until midnight, and yeah, we're generally obnoxious until 10pm. I understand why people complained.
I don't think it's unfair to tell us to shut the fuck up after 8pm or whatever. I think it's unfair to tell me I can't take my computer outside and write after 8pm. Which, you know, is what I generally do when no one is around. And I keep the backdoor unlocked so that I don't have to walk past the creepy dumpsters to go around the front after dark.
Allyson, just because I'm a rebel, I'd continue any quiet/silent activities you have such as your morning tea or evening writing and deal with it if anyone complains.
Well, I did leave for school at about 4 and got here in record time (by 4:45). Now I'm done printing and still have 40 minutes before class.
I think that's ridiculous, Allyson. Quiet rules should be from 10pm to 8am, if that.
What Jesse said. 10PM to 8AM is the norm. 8PM to 11AM is bullshit.
hmm, maybe they got the hours mixed up? :)
In the meantime, if you're quiet you should be okay. I would ask them to send out the amended notice in writing, you wouldn't want them to use that as an excuse to evict anyone.
Yeah, they need to be consistent. And quiet shouldn't bother anyone--if people end up not being quiet, then take action.
My wallpaper right now is Christmas dinner 2006. Rice and gungo peas, fried dumplings, plaintain, chicken and ribs with a frosty mimosa and muscle relaxants on the side. It's blown up larger than life, and is just...man, I want Jamaican food right now and I'm not even hungry.
