Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Heh, Nilly. I loved every word. Jilli sent me an email of happiness, too.

I have no idea how long I'll be able to stay at work when my box comes today.

Don't spoil me. I haven't read it, yet.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Belated birthday happies to Steph.

This was not a good weekend for me. Long story short, on Saturday I was in a very minor car accident (as in scratched bumpers was about it) but it was entirely my fault (I backed into someone at an intersection because the person in front of me started backing up and I backed up to avoid them WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING IN MY MIRROR).

So I basically spent the rest of the (very beautiful) weekend (that I basically wasted) beating myself up over being so stupid. I've only been in one other accident, when someone basically did the same thing to me I did to this guy (they backed into me while they were parking). I'm also not sure if the guy is going to file a claim or not. His car didn't look any worse than mine (which I wouldn't even know had been in an accident since it had a few scratches already), but he might want a shiny new bumper out of this, which would cost me money and raise my rates. Ugh. Not a major issue but I can't stop thinking about being so dumb. Which is probably why I basically couldn't sleep last night, so I've also achieved maximum gronk today.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Don't spoil me. I haven't read it, yet.

Psst. Don't tell Allyson that the plucky heroine dies at the end....

Hurrrgh. I just had the unwelcome revelation that it's possible an ex of mine will be at the wedding I'm going to this weekend, and I won't magically lose 20 lbs by Friday.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I have to say, though, that the guy who said that he'd never read a book by any of the big best-selling authors (Tom Clancy, Stephen King, John Grisham, etc.) has NOTHING to be ashamed of.

except for the fact that he doesn't read at all....

actually I have many of those cultural blind spots.

DH was a 'kill your television' person. But I don't think he watched very much before me. I did convince him that TV was like any other form of entertainment - picking and choosing was the way to be. TV doesn't force you to watch it- becoming a tv zombie is a choice

I'd just like to note that it made it to Israel before it made it to me.

This is ridiculous.

Don't spoil me. I haven't read it, yet.

Well, I haven't read it, either, you know. I just got it last bight, and graded while trying to not call it "my precious" in front of my roommates.

I have almost all of those cultural blind spots. On top of that, I think I'm the only person I know in my age group who haven't seen "Dirty Dancing".

Compassionately intolerant

becoming a tv zombie is a choice

Or for some of us...a sad, sad, nay...pathetic...addiction.

Frankenbuddha, that's enough beating on yourself. there is a reason they call them accidents. No one was hurt, just your pride and possibly your pocketbook. Take this as a lesson and be greatful it wasn't harder.

Frank, please don't beat yourself up!

Isn't it statistically true that every driver has to have a certain amount of accidents involving his car? Isn't it better to "waste" one of the numbers in this statistics on an accident like this, when nobody got hurt, even the cars weren't damaged much, and the only damage may be money?

Or is it too early to try to Pollyanna-ish you and I should just shut my keyboard up?
