I'd just like to note that it made it to Israel before it made it to me.

This is ridiculous.

Don't spoil me. I haven't read it, yet.

Well, I haven't read it, either, you know. I just got it last bight, and graded while trying to not call it "my precious" in front of my roommates.

I have almost all of those cultural blind spots. On top of that, I think I'm the only person I know in my age group who haven't seen "Dirty Dancing".

Compassionately intolerant

becoming a tv zombie is a choice

Or for some of us...a sad, sad, nay...pathetic...addiction.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Frankenbuddha, that's enough beating on yourself. there is a reason they call them accidents. No one was hurt, just your pride and possibly your pocketbook. Take this as a lesson and be greatful it wasn't harder.

Frank, please don't beat yourself up!

Isn't it statistically true that every driver has to have a certain amount of accidents involving his car? Isn't it better to "waste" one of the numbers in this statistics on an accident like this, when nobody got hurt, even the cars weren't damaged much, and the only damage may be money?

Or is it too early to try to Pollyanna-ish you and I should just shut my keyboard up?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I think I'm the only person I know in my age group who haven't seen "Dirty Dancing".

Lucky you.

OK, I haven't seen it either. So maybe I shouldn't be critical of it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I just had the unwelcome revelation that it's possible an ex of mine will be at the wedding I'm going to this weekend

You'll still be awesome and living in Chicago, though.

Frank, those things happen, and it's impossible to completely escape them when you're driving a car. As accidents go, I'm glad no one was hurt, so don't beat yourself up about it.

Why is Livejournal not loading? How am I supposed to avoid working?

I've seen Dirty Dancing enough for all of you. Nobody puts Baby in the corner!

Oh definitely. I shudder to think if someone had been jaywalking or a cyclist had been cutting between me and this guy.

Take this as a lesson and be greatful it wasn't harder.

This is what I'm trying to do, but I'm having a hard time convincing myself. Mostly I'm upset that I let things like this, and my car getting stolen two years ago (or things as simple as moving - not necessarily negative things) can knock me for a loop for days at a time.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Frank, a good thing at times like this is to ask yourself, would you get all down on a friend or relative who had a minor mistake like that? I expect you'd be the first one to defend them, as long as they'd had as sterling a record as you did.

'Do unto others' cuts both ways.
