A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

OK, let me look into whether it's possible to have a general link to Amazon that gets us some cash, or if we need to link to a group of specific products (maybe someone already knows the answer to that?). I'll also see if it's worthwhile to create a separate "buffistas" associates link, or if we should continue to filter through my existing one. Finally - it needs to be coded, and should be something I can do myself, but it needs to go through ita who may have concerns about changing the left column.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

For a link to the main page:

[link]

[eta: It's also possible to build links based on keywords, or to general departments, like, say, all television DVDs]

[edited again: nevermind about the keyword links, since all they do is generate graphics with embedded individual item links, and I'm thinking we want text.]

It occurs to me that Buffistas spend a shitload of money at Amazon. Can't we get a kickback if we link to them, here?

I have thought about this for awhile. But why stop at Amazon? We could have a separate links page to dozens of stores that offer kickbacks. Buy.com, Staples, Flowers.com, Babyuniverse.com. TiarasnCorsets.com etc. Some Buffistas purchase office supplies for their office, others are buying baby gear, and there's no reason why these merchants can't kick a little back to help keep the Phoenix flying. The we remind people to use the shopping links for purchases, and cha-ching.

We could change the board name to Pepsi Presents Buffistas.org...

Hey where would we all be without commercial sponsors for M.E. shows? Look at it from that point of Acuvue.

Hey, lots of Buffistas wear contacts...or could maybe be convinced to start wearing...:)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We could have a separate links page to dozens of stores that offer kickbacks.

I think there's value in just having one, and having it all over. Me, I'd never go to a separate links page.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The money'd be nice but...

Ah well. I have Amazon issues. Despite the fact that I have on occasion fallen off the wagon and gone there for various things, the idea of promoting them (or encouraging our people to patronize them) sticks in my craw a little. I know we've had those links there, but moving them up front or spreading them around the board would bother me. Maybe that's just me, though.
