with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

The question is, have the quick and dirty code fixes done anything to lower the number of connections? And from my understanding, the answer is "we don't know yet." So I'd kind of like to wait till all the facts are in before we make these decisions.

It is a big number. But not as big as I was worried a number like that could be.

On the other hand, if 100 regular posters (our rough guess as to how many regular posters we have) contribute $24 each, we have our $2,400.

It's actually not all that bad.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Looking at it another way, it's only about $2 per member per year. (Not that I'm suggesting we start charging for membership, of course.)

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

It occurs to me that Buffistas spend a shitload of money at Amazon. Can't we get a kickback if we link to them, here?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

The links in the FAQ go to my associates account. I think we've gotten $5 or $10 through it.

I think they should be brought upfront. I'd not go through the FAQ, or remember it.

Upfront where?

Along the left hand side, near the links for filk and Buffista links, I'd imagine.

Left hand side, ayup.

OK, let me look into whether it's possible to have a general link to Amazon that gets us some cash, or if we need to link to a group of specific products (maybe someone already knows the answer to that?). I'll also see if it's worthwhile to create a separate "buffistas" associates link, or if we should continue to filter through my existing one. Finally - it needs to be coded, and should be something I can do myself, but it needs to go through ita who may have concerns about changing the left column.
