I never saw anything redeeming in Kennedy. She was loud, demanding, presumptious, arrogant.
Is she worse later in the season? Because she's been just sorta *there* for me, so far. Oh, apart from her "Willow, aka girl who I barely know--you should really use your powers, those things about which I know nothing, and screw the consequences, which just to be clear, are also things I don't comprehend at all!" bit in Get it Done. Yeah, that bit was annoying, but it's the only example of truly obnoxious behaviour I can think of off the top of my head.
Somehow Kennedy is suddenly
on the executive committee.
I think that is what drove annoyance to disgust.
That, and, well, it's Buffy. We expect a lot from recurring characters. It's like there's some slogan about how Sunnydale is the place where the women are strong, the men are good-looking, and the lesbians are all above average.
I saw Kennedy as being used to represent the ordinary potentials-- the one whose name you can remember.
I found Rona more representative, because she seemed to have a point.
See, I thought that was Stupid Fucking Hat Girl - which is actually her legal name, though she had to be baptized Stupid Frickin' Hat Girl since her family's Mormon.
Sunnydale is the place where the women are strong, the men are good-looking, and the lesbians are all above average.
Sneerrrk. May I tag, pretty please?
Ooo, shiny! Thanks, Madrigal.
Thanks for the friendly welcomes. And yeah, no Kiwi jokes from you Aussies -- for a start, our ones about you are MUCH WORSE. We hate you. Just like Canadians hate Americans.
Sounds likes a lot of you have already seen to the end. Are a lot of you Americans slumming in Antipodean waters? I am going to need lots of advice on how to cope after the finale. Huge gap in life, etc etc, nothing to obsess about.
No, sarameg, didn't see comet. Mind you I don't remember what I was doing two years ago. Not even two weeks ago. But this sure is a purrty country.
As for Kennedy -- I don't like her because she has no RESPECT. Pay your dues and then you get to mouth off. Before that, watch and learn.
I think some of you have a point about having your views shifted and tainted by the NAFDA discussions -- they don't pull their punches, they get the bit between their teeth (how many more metaphors can I mix in?) and one's own tiny thoughts can get mown down by those charging mustangs.
