Look, you got a little stabbed the other day. That's bound to make anyone a mite ornery.

Last night was the end of the the Faith arc on AtS.

And it was nummy! Apart from the wig fiasco and the inevitable blinding of oneself with the nearest fork.

If NZ just had Storyteller then we're (Aussies) only one episode ahead, I think.

I don't know what the criticisms are of this season but I've enjoyed it immensely

Much more enjoyable than last season, imho. At least there's a sense of direction in S7. Plus the added bonus of no waifer-thin metaphors. Well, no waifer-thing metaphors involving drugs that is, because like Kassto, I found the 'metaphor' that was Angel drinking from Buffy at the end of S3 quite entertaining.

No other candidate is asking the hard questions, like "Did geophysicists assassinate Jim Henson?" or "Why is there hydrogen in America's water supply?" --defective yeti

I haven't read the NAFDA threads, so I don't know what the criticisms are of this season but I've enjoyed it immensely.

You took a good path, Jimi. Catching up on NAFDA afterwards is giving me a deeper critical perspective on a season I loved, where if I'd followed along with it the criticisms might have dampened my enjoyment.

I've been waiting for UnAmericans to open because I am looking for a UK resident with a PayPal account that can accept credit card payments. I'll ask again later if not everyone is around to hear.

Welcome Kassto! Nice to have you around.

Nice to have you here, Kassto!

Nou, I am not strictly speaking a UK resident, but I do have a UK bank account and a Paypal account. Let me know if I can be of any help.

I wept buckets.

Funnily enough, although I had a box of tissues on the table, I stayed utterly dry-eyed throughout. I thought it was an extremely classy finale and enjoyed it immensely, but I wasn't at the mercy of it in the way I have been of other episodes. I even had a couple of nitpicks, which I will take to the Buffy thread because I can go there now!

I've been extremely glad to have been reading the NAFDA threads on timelag, because I thought it was an excellent season, and I do find that if everyone else has quibbles, that tends to colour my own opinion. Probably major example: Kennedy. I didn't hate her. I didn't love her, but she didn't bother me particularly. But reading how much she bothered everyone else has meant that I certainly enjoyed her less the last few episodes than before.

Really? People don't like her? Huh, I think she's great!

Angus, go check out the NAFDA Buffy thread now that you've reached the end. I was never one of the haters (I was neutral on her, like Fioana), but there was an overwhelming negative response to Kennedy. It was not a Tara thing, either - she just grated on a lot of the Buffistas to a Riley degree (not kidding).

Fiona - I was dry eyed watching. But now, when I think back, especially about Anya, I get "allergies".

The only thing that grates on me is her name. Is it supposed to be her first name?

They never made that clear. She was supposed to come from money, so I suspect it was supposed to be a last name. I never had a problem with her. She acted bratty at times, but she copped to it too. I figure self-awareness makes up for a lot of things in my book.

ETA I really need to look at my posts for stupid typos before I post them grumble

I like Kennedy too. Or I did for that one episode, the name of which I've forgotten, and I haven't really had an opinion on the girl since then. So I suppose it's more of a more-positive-than-not ambivalence. (Willow should still get with Fred, though, and I'm more than willing to sacrifice Kennedy, literally if need be, to see that happen. IJS. t /pathological 'shipper .) I don't get the Mary-Sue issue, which has been the main non-Buffista criticism that I've read. If Kennedy's a Mary-Sue then the definition of the term has long since been warped beyond my original understanding.

Edited because as much as I like some words, they should not be in a sentence more than once.

Well, Leigh, you are suffering from what we Buffistas call "Frillow" syndrome. Not unknown around these parts after a certain episode of Angel. Actually may have been one source of the anti-Kennedy vibe.

ETA and by we Buffistas, I mean me. I probably didn't invent the term "Frillow", nor was I the first person to call it a syndrome, but... Hmmm - seem to have derailed that train of thought.
