Hee. I had no idea Sky was showing the last Buffy this evening. Synchronicity.
...And thanks for reminding me to have some Kleenex to hand, Am-Chau. Have a great finale!
Discussion of episodes currently airing in Un-American locations (anything that's aired in Australia is fair game), as well as anything else the Un-Americans feel like talking about or we feel like asking them. Please use the show discussion threads for any current-season discussion.

Have a great finale!
Thanks! You too.
Hi, I'm new, beaming in from New Zealand and finally delurking -- disappearance of the site for a couple of weeks caused me some fright. Thought I'd better jump in in case it disappeared for good. I don't know what episode you are up to in Australia for season 7, and therefore what's open for discussion. Over here we have just had ``Storyteller''.
Just a bit of background, and some thoughts:
1) Didn't get converted to Buffy until November last year, but was immediately sold on it like no TV programme ever before. Was lent the Becoming two-parter by friends, then series 3. Then went right back to the start and have watched EVERYTHING twice, at least.
2) This current season has come under a lot of criticism in the main Buffy discussion thread (which I look at really carefully episode by episode so as not to be spoiled) but I still think it has a lot going for it. There is a real sense of melancholy in it for me -- the main characters look so tired and dispirited. Too much apocalypse and love lost, I guess. The writing hasn't always been top notch, but that's the case in every series.
2) As Joss has said in some interview, the audience hates change, and I'm one of those haters. I hated when they left high school, and when Buffy-Angel ended. The most erotic scene I'd ever seen on TV was Angel feeding from Buffy to cure him of his poisonous wound. Series 4 took a long time to grow on me, series 5 I loved, series 6 was excruciatingly painful with moments of brilliance. Felt like I was going through all the agonies of growing up with them, and it was bad enough the first time!
3) In series 7, I still think there's something not quite right about Giles. Andrew is an absolute peach. And as for Buffy and Spike -- still sad, complicated and full of heat, though not always written as well as I would have liked.
4) Still several episodes to go till it all ends here, but I'm already upset about it. I guess it must be different if you've been following it for seven years. Only been seven months for me -- want it to be much much longer.
Welcome Kassto! Nice to see NZ finally represented here!
Hello Kassto! Welcome.
Hi Kassto! Glad you spoke up.
Okay, well, that hurt.
It's over. I may have cried a little. But it's okay, because now I have Firefly... aw, crap.
The end of an Era with a capital-E, for sure.
What Jars said.
I wept buckets.
