I kick ass at Scrabble. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Yay Deena!! That's great!
I think this may be the first time I've posted in Un-American. Posts! Posts in new places!
I think it's about my third or fourth time, and I keep feeling like I shouldn't be here... like I've walked into the men's room by mistake *g*.
Okay, walking away from the computer. I just tried to filk the theme song from Courtship of Eddie's Father to fit Connor and Angel. I think I need an intervention.

Oh, do it, Deena. You know you want to.

You'd think I could resign myself to the fact that I suck at that game, but my evil pride in my vocabulary (as personified by a mini-Wesley of Buffy S3, who sits on my shoulder and mouths sweet pompous nothings like 'diegetic', 'abstruse' and 'apotheosis' in my ear) has me by the balls. Metaphorically speaking.
Amyth, current season - I'm posting it to Angel. I shall blame you.
...a field's worth of potatoes, riced and buttered and baked.
So I'm guessing "riced" is some bizarre Murrican perversion of "mashed"?
How did you ever come up with that? "Riced" potatoes?
You put them through a ricer, it's sort of like a sieve, with tiny round holes.
I'll take the blame, Deena, gladly.
Leigh, thing is, being good at Scrabble isn't so much about vocab as it is about strategy and tricks. It took me a long time to realize this. A few years ago, I befriended a co-worker who was (and is) a Scrabble freak--like, subscribes to the Scrabble newsletter. He taught me a lot.
Hahhaha! Go Deena with the filking!!!
I'm very confused by the discussion re: Lurky McLurkerson who apparently filked Waltzing Matilda, but yay to him/her too!
