I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

Jessica, then, would probably not be a "Wire" fan. It is an investment, my new show, but "Once you in it, you in it." But there were many of my first eps where it was entirely possible to read at the same time. Now, of course, I know not to do that. My fake husband will smite me later with the fact that I Missed Stuff. Also, my corner slang is the bomb these days. Drives my mama just off the hook, too. I don't lose track of much anymore, though. And I like it...that shit is tight.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Was it just her personality, or was it the sort ethical issues about private investigation (or what, if you know)?

Mostly her personality -- I didn't keep watching long enough to really get into the ethics issues that came up. The way the voiceover narration was written just made me itch.

I'd still like to try it, even so -- I think it's more up my alley than VM to begin with.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Veronica continues to be unlikeable. She's judgmental, narrow minded and rude. I kinda watch around her.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I thought the VMVO was kind of @@ the first episode, but I tried to give some slack because, pilot, thus exposition-y. I think it was used with more restraint and to often good uses as the season went along though.

But personality clash is personality clash.

I watched the first season of The Wire a few weeks back in a two day marathon, and really enjoyed. No idea when or where I might have access to the later seasons though.

She's judgmental, narrow minded and rude.

And she so reminds me of many of my friends. If they were less lazy, they too could snoop for a living!

Cool. If you start with Season One you'll learn why I've been calling Bush Snot POTUS since the election. Or sometimes Shrub Boogie. Although that Snot ain't been got. Although his crew'll be starting to learn to jail soon. (It's kinda funny, going from Wee-bey, Omar, and Poot to W., Brownie, and Turd Blossom) Not a surprise if you watch other HBO, but I'm now desensitized to most profanities.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I need to get DH started on The Wire. We don't watch but I have a feeling he'd love it. I'll put one on our netflix.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Trust my rage

brenda, I hope it's okay if I tag, because I already did.

ION, Ellie has learned that incoming kleenex means an imminent nose wipe. She tries to preempt this by rubbing her nose with her hands. My job is to get there first. With any other baby, I'd say "ewww", but since she's mine, it's cute.
