Yeah, I figured that Hec would comment on Sweet. I have a greatest hits CD, plus I got "AC-DC" from Hec (I think) and "Funny, Funny" from (I think) a CD of bubblegum hits, which maybe is called Bubblegum Hits....
Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Maybe "Love is Like Oxygen"
Long version or the edit?
I don't think I've heard the long version in... forever, if ever. My version is 3:47. How is the long version different? Does it have a break in the middle?
Does it have a break in the middle?
Yep. Extended instrumental noodling (like, several minutes worth) before one last return to the chorus. I know someone who took the long version and edited it so it was wayyyyy longer - when the song came back, they went back to the beginning of the song rather than the return after the break, and then did it another 3 or 4 times. Hilarious to play for an unsuspecting group of stoned people (I know someone else who did something similar with Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone").
Long version or the edit?
I've got the long version on my iTunes - 6:51. But I think I had the radio /single edit as well. I probably took one off in a fit of house cleaning.
eta: I'm listening to it now and the extended middle section is a quiet acoustic guitar and piano (or synth) interlude that slowly builds back up to the crunchy main riff.
oops, concert NOT tonight. tomorrow. still excited.
David, the box arrived -- thank you!!! I am overwhelmed with musicness!
SA - I LOVED M.Ward live - especially his guitar-god encores (he did three in Chicago). Hope you have fun.
It was fantastic! He did two encores! And he opened with this seriously amazing intro to "What do you do with the pieces of a broken heart?" that just blew. me. away. I enjoyed it immensely.
I haven't seen that the Decemberists are coming this way, but I can't imagine they wouldn't; I hope I get to catch them, because I love "The Crane Wife."
Tonight: Calexico, with Beirut opening. This is going to be good.
Apropos of the recent discussion of iPod shuffles that don't seem random, tonight my iPod in shuffle mode gave me 2 Kylie Minogue songs in a row ("Chocolate" and "The Loco-Motion," for those of you keeping score at home). I have maybe 75 Kylie songs out of, um, over 11,000 on my iPod.
emusic people: What's the most recent thing you've downloaded and loved? (I have 15 downloads to use up.)
