Oh my god. What can it be? We're all doomed! Who's flying this thing!? Oh right, that would be me. Back to work.

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

From Tom's link:

Current subscribers and those who sign up in the next few weeks will continue to receive the old rate for as long as their account is kept in good standing.

That is awesome. I do the thing where I pay in one lump sum every year (I think it was around $240.00) and get 90 downloads per month. I practically feel like I am stealing... such a good deal.

SA - I LOVED M.Ward live - especially his guitar-god encores (he did three in Chicago). Hope you have fun.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Now playing - "Little Willy" by Sweet.

This is an awesome song....

eta: I have fond childhood memories of going to our town's only bowling alley and playiing "Fox on the Run" and "Ballroom Blitz" on the jukebox....

Because books.

Aw! I heard "Ballroom Blitz" on the radio the other day, and almost drove off the road I was so surprised.

First song I learned to dance to.

I'm pretty sure I've posted a couple Sweet songs at BR. Maybe "Love is Like Oxygen" and "Action." As you might imagine, I am not only the kind of person who has several Sweet records, and have written about them, but I also own videos of them.

Lucky! They've been playing "O, Valencia" on the local classic rock station. Very disconcerting to hear Colin's voice coming from a mainstream radio setting.

Yeah, I figured that Hec would comment on Sweet. I have a greatest hits CD, plus I got "AC-DC" from Hec (I think) and "Funny, Funny" from (I think) a CD of bubblegum hits, which maybe is called Bubblegum Hits....

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Maybe "Love is Like Oxygen"

Long version or the edit?

I don't think I've heard the long version in... forever, if ever. My version is 3:47. How is the long version different? Does it have a break in the middle?

Yep. Extended instrumental noodling (like, several minutes worth) before one last return to the chorus. I know someone who took the long version and edited it so it was wayyyyy longer - when the song came back, they went back to the beginning of the song rather than the return after the break, and then did it another 3 or 4 times. Hilarious to play for an unsuspecting group of stoned people (I know someone else who did something similar with Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone").
