Cool stuff, Hec! If I was throwing a party I'd play your mix.
In other super-awesome news! I got tickets to see Jose Gonzales, Zero 7 and Sia play later this month at the Olympia Theater. When I went on Tuesday they had restricted viewing seats and I was like, oh well, at least I'll get to hear them live. But then my card was declined because, well, I was broke. But I got paid yesterday and went back to check again, and really awesome seats had magically been released! First row of the balcony on the aisle, dead center! I'm going to be able to see everything! In short, *awesome.*
I also got tickets to see Calexico, which will be cool. I haven't heard a lot of their recent stuff but I've heard they're always a safe bet live. Ryan Adams (don't judge me!) was unfortunately sold out, though I might check back the day of and see if any tickets have been released; Sufjan Stevens was also sold out, and that really sucks.
I also got tickets (really hugely overpriced ones, especially for standing) to go see Christina Aguilera in November. And that is going to be incredible.
I'm going to see Kristin Hersh (yes, again) tonight. Whee! On the 17th, I'm going to see Bettie Serveert. Good show month!
Anyone have access to Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" that you could email to me? Profile address is good. I have the CD somewhere and can't find it, and I promised the song to a friend who's writing a book about werewolves... (Oops.)
Cool and freaky video: Gnarls Barkley's cover of "Gone Daddy Gone": [link]
Thanks tommy -- I really liked that! Though, we should mention that if you have a bug squick, it's really not worth it to click on the link -- animated, but still bugs, you know?
Good point. But they're not the kind of bugs we usually see, but instead are the tiny tiny ones that live in your carpet, etc. I don't know if that makes it better or worse....
a thousand eyes turning blue....
Just checking in to see how Hec's coming with that Halloween mix! I still listen to last year's (all day today, in fact), and I think Zombie King may be one of my favorite songs ever.
Um, what would the musical style of "Zombie King" be called?
