Jilli: yes, they usually send advance copies.
Thank you! Now I need to figure out who I know that might get an advance copy of something ...
'Potential'
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Did Joe Boucher really just drive by this place without stopping in here to say hello?
No.
Okay, so I lied.
First off, big big big congrats to Hec & JZ!!! David, is your mailing address the same as it was a few months ago? (Of course, the book I sent then never arrived...)
Sorry for the radio silence. The combination of trial prep, selling the house, & a trip to Milan and Lago Maggiore have kept me even from lurking much. Did see Theodosia's list & was happy that a couple of my Buffistamix choices were there. Which reminded me that I never finished, much less posted, my liner notes. Someday... Anyway, here are the pertinent ones. The one for Mojo (it's a he, not a they) isn't much help but whatever. Met him in Austin once, Corwood. He & Country Dick Montana were announcing the SXSW softball game.
3. Cross-genre cover song (such as a soul musician covering a country song)
The Raw Magillys - Back in the Saddle
The old Gene Autry tune, not the Aerosmith one, done in the style that Zeppelin used on their rockabilly update "Hot Dog." I'm also using this for 26 (terrible name) and could have used it for 14 (LITG). As for the latter, although there was plenty of groove, there weren't any grooves that I'm aware of. There was a terrific cassette, mostly originals plus this cover, which was replaced with (though not obviated by) a CD of inferior rerecordings of the same material plus a few extra tracks. Not sure what happened to guitarist Hildi Magilly, but singer Heidi Magilly - sibling status & names all for show - & the rhythm section are now performing as Atomic Swindlers. And if I still lived near Rochester I'd probably go see all their shows, too.
5. Makes you want to get high, drunk, or, if it's your druthers, dizzy & giddy from spinning around in circles
Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper - Gin Guzzlin' Frenzy
"Somebody git me a gin and tonic/Man I wants to get supersonic!"
Unfortunately I have to get back to the trial exhibit list, and I have to do it without a gin & tonic. Slavedrivers!
I thought you just bought the place.
Had to sell the old one to pay for the new one. Can't finishing buying until we're done selling. And congrats to you! (I think I saw something in announcements or somewhere that deserved it. I think my wife wants to talk to you about it.) And could you please send me MC's address if you have it handy? Grazie.
insent joe.

Joe, I'm gonna take it to email since I need your new address, I think. Unless you're still in your old place.
One thing that may have influenced my playing some of the Buffista Frankenmix more than others was that the earlier sets had a couple more weeks of rotation through my Smartlists, which may have ramped their numbers up some in relation to the songs that came later to my attention. But as a fair approach to judging what songs really hit my buttons, it seems a decent try....
It was cool to see a couple of mine on there too, Theo.
