I heard that he was doing Oregon next.

Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
For serious?! What state has he done this time?
The only new thing I know about is an album of Illinois outtakes due out in July. [link]

It's not a new state. It'a The Avalanche: Outtakes And Extras From The Illinois Album, coming out 7/25, but the link has a track available.
ETA: Aaaaaaand Jon beat me to it.
I'm sorry to report that the Who have apparently recorded a new mini-opera.
David likes to joke about the man, but I'll bet it comes from a mostly affectionate place.
That's true. I built my record collection from his Record Guides of the 70s and 80s. (And Trouser Press and Greil Marcus' Stranded.)
As with Greil, I've been in conversation with Christgau (in my head anyway) for more than 20 years, so most of my grumbling about them is just raggedy end of a disagreement that's never been satisfied on my end. But I agree with Christgau's assessments a lot. And in part for the reasons he notes in the Placebo review - he does go back and listen to the music even though he's prone to dismissing goth bands out of hand. Which is no way to make friends with Jilli, but at least he's honest enough in his opinions to own that bias and get past it to listen to the music itself.
You know how you sometimes get a CD and it wasn't what you were expecting so you just file it away? That's what Kenny Roberts' "Jumpin' and Yodelin'" was for me. A friend bought it off my Amazon wishlist and it ended up not being quite what I had in mind at the time. I was doing some random playing on my iTunes list and "She Taught Me How To Yodel" came on. Holy shit, can that guy yodel! Virtuoso yodeling can sometimes be very boring, very mechanical. And at other times it's just jaw-dropping. Especially if you've ever yodeled yourself and realized how hard it is to get it fast complicated Alpine yodels to sound quite that clean. /esoteric

Oh my Christ, three more versions of "Chicago." *salivates*
I don't see a link for a track download, sumi.
Not really a music post, but it seems more relevant here than in Movies.
I made myself a White Russian tonight. Why? Who can say. I had the ingredients. And then I looked down at my slovenly underemployed attire, and considered my longish past my collar hair and the goatee and realized....I'm turning into The Dude.
So does everybody in the music thread have a favorite Coen Brothers movie? And if not, why?
ION, we got the complete 13 ep series DVDs for the show Action with Jay Mohr and Illeana Douglas.
It rocks. Recommended for fans of Arrested Development and Newsradio.
I just checked that out from Netflix a couple weeks ago. I managed to catch some episodes while the series was on the air (and was a fan), but watching it again after all this time made me think "Wow. They got away with this on network TV?"
