We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Art Crawl!!!

Thank you Lyra Jane!

One of my friends is trying to re-create this perfect EC mix she'd made years ago and couldn't remember where she had found that song.

Up with the sun

No problem, Sumi.

I actually have my own mystery song to ask about. It was a female singer and sounded a bit like a Jewel/Tori Amos cross. Unfortunately, all I can remember of the lyrics is that a)the song was very wordy and b)several verses started with something like, "It's two a.m., and I'm still awake." I think it's new-ish because of the radio station I heard it on.

Any guesses? It was pretty.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Lyra, it might be "Breathe" by Anna Nalick. [link]

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Hey, I haven't heard any Buffistas talking about the SCISSOR SISTERS that I can recall. Damn, that's one fun album. The disco-Floyd alone made it worth the purchase and it's hardly my favorite thing on the album.

Granted, that album is so tongue-in-cheek it's licking somebody else's naughty bits, but I kinda like that.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

I'm very pleased with the Scissor Sisters, what I've heard of them. Especially their cover of "Take Me Out." It's the cap sauce!

Is that a bonus song somewhere, because it's not on the album. There's a song called "Take Your Mama", which isn't a cover, but sounds like one (specifically Elton John). The only cover on the album is Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb", which is hysterical.

Also, Franz Ferdinand has a great song called "Take Me Out". If it's a cover of that I'd be REALLY curious to hear it.

Roguish Laird

The Scissor Sisters wrote Kylie's ace new single "I Believe In You", which I actually prefer to any of their own stuff. I do like them though. There was a big story on them in the most recent Observer Music Monthly.

Are you ready to be strong?

It's the cap sauce!

No. You guys will not make this into a "thing"! I am sorry. We have our limits.

No fair putting the kibosh on Joe B's & my in-jokes. ;-)

Frankenbuddha, I don't think it's on any album, and it IS a cover of the Franz Ferdinand song. Your profile addy good?
