Buffy 4: Grr. Arrgh.
This is where we talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No spoilers though?if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it. This thread is NO LONGER NAFDA. Please don't discuss current Angel events here.
Loves me some Steph.
All the moments that people have typed about made me wish that I watched the show from the beginning. When I saw most of these moments for the first time I already had a general knowledge of what was going to happen next.
Definitely, the flu that had me home and watching TV that premiere night in 1997 was the luckiest snot-filled illness of my life.
Loves me some Steph.
t blush
I was out of the country when the show started, and while a lot of people told me it was a Raq show, I didn't want to start in the middle. My jiujitsu partner kept on me about it ( "Are you watching it yet? Did you see this week's, where Angel came back?" "No, no, no, don't tell me! I'll see it some day! Who's Angel? Ow!") and then one night when I was home alone, I wandered downstairs and turned on the TV, which I never do, and FX was showing the third episode of S1. So I was hooked, like Matt, by happy accident.
I'm planning my Angel obsession a little better...I've seen a couple aired eps, but am trying to remain spoiler-free until I get to Greece, and watch the DVDs. I haven't even taken the shrink-wrap off of them.
Hmmm. Hottest moment chemistry-wise would probably be the kiss at the end of "Angel" where Buffy's crucifix burns into the former's chest. Almost did the same to my picture tube.
gug. soooo hot.
I may have to go with the end of Grad Day I, when Buffy donates Slayer-blood to Angel. Best TV orgasm (heck, possibly best on-screen orgasm) evah.
oh, HELL yeah. The crushing of the vase, kicking over of the table. HOTT.
The one moment that X/W was a possibility. Season 2 teaser. With the ice cream.
DCJ, I was just thinking about that! Yes!
Duuuuuuuuuuuuude.
Dude.
I had a thought. A S7 Metaphor thought.
Dude.
It makes so much sense, including the end of Chosen.
It's all about Power, but it's all about letting go of the things that have power over you. It's about letting go of the baggage of high school and childhood, which includes the baggage of what makes you special, all those labels of "smart" and "jock" and "diva" and all that. Releasing the grudges, and seeing what you have in common, not what keeps you apart.
Duuuuuuuuuuude.
ETA: and I'm thinking VERY specifically of childhood/school related things and their power. Because it ended at the school, just like it started.
