Oh, and my siggy, ms. erika and let the speculation on whether it's self (as in my- not as in your-) referential fly fast and furious.

Stupid posters are not a gift from God.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Giles singing

Marsters. Power Center. Sad but true.

Hmm. Becoming is basically Life of a Slayer, 101. You have the sacrifices, the responsibility, and all the issues that will remain issues concentrated into two or so hours of pure pain, but in the good way. You also have the beginnings of the end or the end of the beginning with Willow and the magic, Xander and the lie, Buffy and trust in anyone other than herself.

Restless shows the internal fears that will continue to tear at them. Buffy, that she's somehow more and somehow less than others, Giles, that his life will never be his own, Willow, that she's still just a geek girl at heart, and Xander, that he's still just the failure who never gets in on the (wicca wicca) action, doomed to turn into his father.

Really? You're shitting me, Cindy....no...I paraphrased the Munchkin yet again, and the famous quote "Stupid Killers are a gift from God," because they are so easy to catch and put away...he also goes on to compare the average suspect's brain to day-old banana pudding...imagine the kerfuffle if I'd used that one...being dumb on the 'net isn't a crime, though, yet.

Bless you, Plei. This conversation that's got me thunking is particularly stupid.

(details withdrawn, as why would I inflict this pain on you lovely people)

I can almost think again. Okay, you know I have nothing to add (and no arguments) for your Becoming and Restless riffs. Tell me, given what we know about Buffy, what was up with her and Riley? Why did she run after him when he issued his ultimatum? What was up with Xander in that episode (was it Into the Woods)? Did you want to smack him, too?

Oh erika, more apt than ever, then. This person that has me thunking is (to steal the assessment of another standing with her mouth agape) both stupid and relentless. Now, I'm like a pitbull with a topic, and have lost about 15 IQ points with each kid. But this one? Not so easy to put away.

Abandonment issue make Buffy do stupid, stupid, stupid things.

And yes, I do include much of the S7 crap with Spike in that category. Seems to come from the same place as running after the chopper.

Xander (yes, I did want to smack him) was playing over-identify much.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think the actual quote is something like "We have the edge because our brains are instruments of deductive reasoning. And the average suspect's brain is like day old banana pudding." And with that I've exceeded my RDA of H:LOTS. Although if I quoted the Dalai Lama like that, I'd look hella spiritual.
