Lorne: Snakes? Uh-huh. And they came out of your what? Okay. Okay, well, did they get up there themselves or is this part of a, you know, a thing? No, I'm not judging...Do we fight snakes? Angel: Only if they're giant. Or demons. Or giant demons. Are they giant demon snakes? Lorne: Well, unless this guy's 30 feet tall, I'm thinking they're of the garden variety.

Cindy in Quotables:

By the way, "To kill this girl, you have to love her," may just be the entire series, summed up in one line

Jenny in Quotables:

Where do you get that?

Or did the Master love Buffy? And I guess the end of The Gift was a demonstration of self-love? OK, maybe I'll buy the second, because, well, Dawn was made of Buffy, but still . . .

Cindy in Quotables

I wasn't being quite that literal, but Buffy? Her heart's gotta be on the line for her to win, and when it's on the line, she is also more likely to lose.

I'll buy that as an argument for "To kill this girl, she has to love YOU." But not the other way around.

WRT the Master killing her, Buffy was 16 and didn't want to die and was killed by the Master, because her heart wasn't in it.

But that says nothing about the Master's feeling for Buffy. His love for her or lack of love for her was completely irrelevant - it's all about Buffy's own sense of self & self-preservation. According to Spike (in Fool for Love) this is so for ALL slayers.

The Gift wasn't a demonstration of self-love, but it was love that caused her to sacrifice herself for her sister. Buffy fights (lives, loses, wins) because of her heart.

OK, I get that. And certainly her interactions with Kendra and Faith bear this out. She's a better slayer because she lets her passions feed her. I'm just having a really tough time seeing how that relates to "To kill this girl, you have to love her," which seems to me to be more about Angelus than about Buffy. It's about HIS obsession. If I'm missing something her, you'll have to go slow till I get it.

The way you get to her (for good and for evil), is through her heart. Season seven reaffirmed that idea, but it's pretty much always been there.

Again, I don't see this being a theme in S7. You'll have to spell it out for me. Because to me, Season 7 said that the way you get to Buffy is to make her friends act like they DON'T love her, same as in Season 4. But I didn't get any love for the Buff coming from either Adam or FE as they were doing this.

It's quite possible I'm totally misconstruing what you mean to say - like I said, you'll need to break it down for me.

I may be the only person on this forum who hasn't known this for over a year, but just in case - I've just identified the song is that's played over the last shots of the last episode of series 6 - "Make me a channel of your peace, etc". It's a musical version of the prayer of St Francis, by the late Sebastian Temple, a South African born writer and musician. It was, apparently, played at Princess Diana's funeral service.

Another social casualty...

Some potential (but not Potential) good news for AH.

ETA: It's the Rueters news site so I don't know how long the link will be good. She's signed a talent deal with NBC for a sitcom.

Also, Aly and Alexis tied the knot this past weekend. There's only this tiny picture. Sure there will be more soon.

Hope they live happily ever after.

brillig

You're all thinking it anyway . . .

what a twosome of cuteness. But, in the middle of shooting? Unless Wesley's not going to be in several eps so they can have a honeymoon.

Art Crawl!!!

Very true -- I've been thinking of that ever since I heard that they were getting married in the Fall.

I am an evil and selfish woman. (In wanting Wes to be on the show and not languishing somewhere while AD is off on his honeymoon.)
