Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Tries to figure out what the Hellmouth of Seattle is.

Boeing? No? I'm stumped. Starbucks? Jeez, that would suck. My cubicle is probably right on top of the damn thing.

Tukwila.

So technically, it's south of Seattle proper, but it does have a strong history of bad stuff.

I have a theory (which, okay, started when I was writing fic last year) where Boeing, Starbucks, and others draw power from it. It explains all the wacky serial killers 'round here, the traffic, the just random crap, the whole Seattle-ness of the place, really.

(And Northgate? The ORIGINAL shopping mall.)

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Ooh, that reminds me, Plei:

I-5, going south, not far north of Olympia, there's a sign that says "McAllister Creek/Historic Name Medicine Creek." Do you have any clue what's up with that? Did someone object to Medicine Creek on cultural grounds? Because if so, the passive-aggressiveness embodied in leaving it up there as a "historic name" anyway cracks me up.

Ah, Northgate Mall. I recently learned that it was, in fact, the first mall. Doesn't make me not want to move out of that area, though.

Anyway. Carry on with the Buffy talk.

I don't know why it was changed, or when, but I think the Historic Name is left up/indicated because of

The Refuge is located on a portion of the Nisqually Delta that was a traditional council ground for the Nisqually Indians. From December 24-26, 1854, the historic Medicine Creek Treaty Council was held beneath the "treaty trees" on the east side of the former course of what is now called McAllister Creek, at a location which appears to have been mostly buried under I-5 when it was constructed in the 1960s.

Ah, so historical reasons. Fair enough. Now I can stop wondering about that every time I drive over to headquarters, and can instead concentrate on "why are you going 50 mph in the left-hand lane? The hell?"

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

So does this mean that Bill Gates is going to turn into a giant snake at some point?

Literally, I mean - he's already there metaphorically.

I know, and so does nudity but you never saw naked Spi...er never mind.

I blame this on females. I guess it is only fair that their Buffy related sex symbol gets some cover work...

But I WANT GILES AND XANDER dammit! Can't we have alternate covers and shit like magazines do sometimes?
