Zoe: What's that, sir? Mal: Freedom, is what. Zoe: No, I meant what's that? Mal: Oh. Yeah. Just step around it. I think something must've been living in here.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I got the general feeling that Faith was considered to be too self-consciously tough in S3, and the real Faith love didn't start to bloom until her return in S4. Then it had a nice retroactive glow which went back over the earlier episodes. Of course, that's a pretty subjective take on a general board-wide vibe.

Personally, I did the dance of Faith love from the minute she came on the screen. As much as I love the Scoobs, for once I saw someone who I could relate to and acted more like I did when I was in highschool.

While I wasn't a big cleavage-y slut bomb, I did, you know, smoke and cuss, make fun of cheerleaders and listen to music too loud, etc. (And then I staked that one guy by accident and went evil, but that's a whole other story...)

I think "new character's" experience, or rather, the experience an audience has when a new character is added to the show, is sort of like how a new school sees a "new kid", which Joss gave us a nice view of, in WTTH.

I can't even.

I remember the Bronze having major Faith-lust immediately. It was the first time the Bring Your Own Subtext crowd emerged, that I noticed. Cosmic Bob danced with Eliza at the PBP that year and his sig file became legend.

These are just my rose-coloured memories -- there was a sizable "is Faith Evil?" faction even before she was, y'know, evil, but I remember a generally positive reaction. However, if Allyson is skimming the vaults, she may have a different take to report.

Always Anti-fascist!

As a late adopter, I pretty much always liked her.

Faith and I arrived in Sunnydale, pretty much at the same time, so she wasn't subjected to my usual aversion to cast changes and additions.

(Fred got double, on Angel. Plei ropes me in, once in a while. At least the twitching is gone, now.)

This, I would like very much to see, please.

While I wasn't a big cleavage-y slut bomb

Oh, come on. Just admit it ...

Cosmic Bob danced with Eliza at the PBP that year and his sig file became legend.

What's a sig file? Or, really, what does this mean? I am old. And wasn't a Bronzer. And am sort of low- to mid-tech competent.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Jen, a sig is like a tagline.

OTOH, I don't know what Cosmic Bob's was, and I wanna know!

I think it was just "I danced with Eliza," amy.
