Sorry, Captain. I'm real sorry. I shoulda kept better care of her. Usually she lets me know when something's wrong. Maybe she did, I just wasn't paying attention...

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'm going to be a wreck for the next 24 hours. And longer probably.

I think it was a Buffistas poll though.

All polls are Buffista polls in my world. Doing them in the Facebook just lets me add pictures but I can link to them. Puppy needs a nom de net.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You guys, it's Buffy's 40th birthday. [link]

Wow. She's 40 today.

Okay, FB on my FB and the Buffista page is up. Suggestions taken here as well. Let's give the bat-eared dog an Internet name.

Our wings are not tired.

Buffy's 40th makes sense. She shares a birthday with my #1 son, who is 29 today. (and independent finally, man that just feels so good)

That's excellent, Laura! So glad to hear it. How are things with #2 son?

You guys, it's Buffy's 40th birthday.

I cannot make this work in my head with how old I am and how much older than Buffy I think I am. Although if I do the math it seems to be right. Huh.

Maybe she can finally have birthdays that aren't horrible now that she's 40

Poe, Buffy and Dolly Parton all on the same day. That should make for a good party theme.

Yes, my son has always appreciated sharing his day with Poe and Parton. He wasn't big into Buffy, but probably because it was a 'Mom' thing.

Better. I am still having issues, but keeping it internal as they are trying. Saturday, which was her original due date, they brought him to DH's basketball game as a surprise. There was another super wee one there too! We went out to eat at an outdoor restaurant afterwards as it is still appropriate weather for eating outside here. Their rule was that no one could hold him until his gestational due date because of him being so early, which understandable. So I got to hold him finally all through dinner! My arm was actually sore the next morning. Bobby went back to work yesterday, but still has several weeks paternity leave in reserve to use as needed. She has applied to transfer to one of a couple WFH positions within Tesla after her leave is up. She's been there for over 5 years so that shouldn't be an issue.

The first and only basketball game I went to this year looks like it was the last. All the games have been canceled for the next couple weeks for Covid outbreaks one county over, basically because once you trace it out a bunch of school districts are potentially exposed. DH opted not to coach this year although he attends the games and goes up top to film. No huddles for him. Now it looks like no games for a while, again. I do have to say people were compliant with masks and distancing at the game. Probably because they would have been told to leave otherwise, but still it was appreciated.
