Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

Thrive to spite them

Thank you. At one point my uncle and aunt were talking about how even though they knew this was going to happen and were prepared it still was unexpected in ways.

And I ended up saying "It's always sudden." And someone agreed.

My dad wasn't there. We had gone fishing (and actually got a call while fishing that she was slipping away) and originally wasn't going to come because he was tired. Once I realized it was really the end I called him and he came but then she slipped away before he got there.

There will be a grave side service either Wed or Thurday with immediate family & direct descendants & families. And ex wives if you include my mom and an aunt...who I don't consider an ex aunt.

And then a celebration of life later with everyone.

I brought 2 dresses down, a colorful sundress that I love and get compliments on and a black dress that is ok. I think I'm going to wear the colorful dress. I don't know if I'll be the only one in color. There is a necklace that Grandma bought when we were on our Tour of UK. My aunt gave it to me tonight and I went to put it on and the clasp broke off. I wanted to wear it and I'm still going to see if I can.

I called work this afternoon to give them a heads up. The HR manager took me off the schedule for this week. I'm going to call tomorrow and let them know and say if I can keep the rest of the week and be back Sunday.

Punishingly Intricate

I'm so sorry, askye. I'm glad you are with your family, though.

I am so sorry askye. I am glad you are there already and you got to see her. Colorful is good!

With the necklace, could you somehow tie it together around your neck with yarn or string or even dental floss?

Sophia I think so . The clasp just broke in half so it's not missing any chains or anything. I might be able to use a small safety pin to hold it together.

I have to say last night had plenty of tears but there was way more laughter. We told funny stories about Grandma and then various family members and talked about her sense of humor.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S woke us up at 6 this morning. (He fell asleep before 8 last night, so I guess it’s not a total surprise.) He’s been a bit fussy all day. It doesn’t help that Gary and I are both quite tired.

We are at the beach, and our room is made and unpacked. Waiting for friends. So very happy!

Thrive to spite them

Yay for being at the beach JenP.

Today I went to my to aunt's and watched football with Dad and my 2 uncles and Matthew. My aunt went to lunch with her boyfriend and a friend of his that they had planned before this.

When she got back she found a chain for me to borrow so I can wear the cross pendant at the funeral. She found a book, 1001 Beautiful Things, Grandma had given me at one time and wanted back because she missed it but she wanted me to have it. And then my aunt gave me the framed picture of me and my grandparents from when I was about 20 months old. It's been in the same frame for as long as I can remember . I have a copy of that picture but now I have my grandparents verison and a cookbook of hers that had lots of her notes in it.

My aunt said if there is anything not claimed then she's going to do a 2nd round of "take what you want". I told her if no one wanted the poetry Grandma had I would take those.

There is one figurine I would like but I'm pretty sure someone has already asked for it.
