Can't even shout, Can't even cry. The Gentlemen are coming by. Looking in windows, knocking on doors. They need to take seven, and they might take yours. Can't call to mom, can't say a word. You're gonna die screaming but you won't be heard.

Coding and Sleeping

I just got on the elevator, and a guy was on there actively removing the panel with the buttons in it. I am sure he was a building employee, but it just seemed like I was suddenly in a heist movie.

What did the background music sound like? From what I know about heists (all from TV and movies), during a heist there should be some hiest-y background music.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Unfortunately, there was no background music at all, so I'm still not sure!

All the buttons were taken away from our elevators over the weekend! We've got one of those systems now where you tell it what floor and it tells you what elevator to go to.

Those seem so smart to me, for a big building. It's like, when we have a fire drill, I always want to organize people by floors when we're getting back into the elevators.

It's actually been a really hard year, when you stop and do the math. Eliot would cry, too, if it didn't take him seventy minutes of therapy, two cocktails, and a Sondheim medley before he can experience a human emotion through the haze of his PTSD.

They'll put the music in during post-production.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am sure he was a building employee

Yes, it worked!

I mean, no doubt.

So, I have to say this somewhere and where better than here? Joe Biden is turning into Jack Palance.

Heh. Sigh.

I am just avoiding working and having random thoughts, so: My mother the English major claims to have never heard of Shirley Jackson's The Lottery! What?!?!

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

I can see it.

EDIT: Biden, I mean. I've never read The Lottery but I've certainly heard of it.

I *really* want to see the push-up challenge happen. Is that wrong?

(Look, in this hellscape we're living in, I'm taking my entertainment where I can get it.)

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Jesse, that is bizarre! Has she heard of Jackson at all?
