So, day 2 post ER and I'm starting to feel more human. I got dressed, came down stairs, and puttered around a bit before sitting and I didn't feel like I had to rest up before I could relax. Not ready to go out and walk any stores, so I'm glad I didn't have any Black Friday plans. My lungs are playing nice but this darned cold hasn't let up any. Maybe I'll be healthy for the two weeks I'm taking off at the end of the year.
Sunday at the stables is our welcome party for our new horse Challenger. This is the gypsy horse we won over the summer through that facebook contest. He is less than 2 years old and hasn't been saddle broken yet, so it will be a while before he is working in our program, but I don't think anyone cares. We are so excited to have him.
Already lost the Little Drummer Boy game.
Had to get rebooked on new flights due to a connection that I was not going to make. Only leaves 10 minutes later and gets me home 15 later. Not complaining, even if I lost my A status. May upgrade in Denver for the long flight.
Been quiet online because the company was the best.
I'm home from a week with family in VA. No racist comments were made and the dinner was incredible and it was great to sit at a table and eat dinner with both my brothers--that hasn't happened in a couple of years.
As for the week leading up to the holiday, my mom's BFF has some worsening memory deficits and is almost deaf, and my mom has a very quiet voice and it was like a very annoying comedy skit all week.
Suzi, what are the chances of your org changing how they refer to the horse breed to Romany, or Rom horse? G*psy is a racial slur, and is being replaced with Rom, Rrom, Romani or Romany, in reference to vardo wagons, clothing, and other cultural effects, even woo-woo things like fortune tellers.
The keepers of the breed registry should be looking at changing the name officially, just to keep up with social relevance--not that your org has anything to do with that.
getting rid of most of my physical CDs. I'm down to the mix CDs now. damn these unlabeled mixes.
Why oh why do I always overfill the cupcake cups?? I have made a ton of cupcakes in my life! And most of them have been overfull. Oh well.
Think I prefer overfilled cupcakes. Been a while since I made cupcakes at all, though, probably I should check that.
