Outside pants on, empanadas consumed. Time for leaves.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It's nice to know strippers are an option, whether or not you choose to enjoy them, Matt.

I just finished pulling a ton of over enthusiastic salvia out of my garden, along with yards of poorly performing soaker hose, and planting hydrangeas. I'm thinking that some autumn ferns and Lenten roses would finish things nicely--I'll see if there are some good sales. After a day of warm rain a cold front came through last night, so the air is like champagne. It's a great day to be outside, gardening of not.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Nicely done, Matt. I am intrigued by the volcanic fajitas.

My DVR/receiver is on its last legs. I just want it to work enough for me to pull all my recorded stuff off of it (I bought a video capture thingy to make that work, probably with great loss of resolution but that's okay). I think I can actually watch everything I want on Hulu, etc., just a day or so late, and I generally watch everything late anyway. Big test of the Sunday Ticket app, though.

I like marionberries, personally. But if you wanted cherry, not a good substitute.

Had a good but long day with the parents yesterday and today I have little energy and less ambition. Just gonna sit inside in my fleecey bathrobe, watching and listening to the rain when it happens, trying to chivvy along the DVR and drinking hot beverages. Maybe do some laundry. Possibly roast some beets, since I have some and that doesn't take a lot of effort and pays high in deliciousness. I'll hit TJ's on Tuesday when they apparently get stuff delivered, because peppermint joe joes are my favorite.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

My house needs a thorough cleaning from top to bottom, but that will be later tonight. Today I'm taking mom out to lunch and generally being chauffer fur whatever errands she wants done.

I was going to do a noon Zumba class, but my head hurts enough that the idea of loud music is not appealing. I also woke up late and I'm still groggy. I also feel incredibly guilty for not going to the class. I promised myself that I'd exercise today.

Punishingly Intricate

This morning we did our annual 5k in support of Trouts Unlimited which they call the Restoration Run and we call the Trout Run. It's a very small event and I'm always the only walker so I upheld my record of coming in totally last! It's good practice in not giving a fuck what others think while I have a good time! I recommend it! Then we had huge brunch.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We have a lot of raking/leaf-blowing in our future today. Fortunately we have a teeny tiny yard. And the weather is gorgeous, so it'll be a good day to get the leaves up. (Also, the Bengals aren't playing today, so I have no excuse to park myself in front of the teevee.)

hip deep in pie

I am making a full on Turkey dinner for the final dinner and Downton tonight. (Well no cranberry sauce.) A twelve pound turkey should be enough for three, right? ;) I think this is the smallest turkey I've ever cooked.

I made a blue berry pie last night, so I hope the whole thing isn't too crazy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That sounds fun, Sue!

Luckily, my mother got up most of the leaves from the driveway yesterday, so I just cleaned up. It's the seed pods (AKA Pinocchio noses in my family) that are so annoying! Also I mostly left the leaves on the little back yard, as mulch for the future? Meh.

I promised myself that I'd exercise today.

Pretty sure thorough cleaning counts as exercise!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Cleaning totally counts as exercise. A walk around the block does, too.

Way to go, lisah! Not giving a fuck practice is important.

Sounds fun, Sue!
