My ballot was fairly simple, though it did include the question of what to do with all the "extra" marijuana tax money - give it to education or refunds back to marijuana stores and customers. It is more complex than that, but that is the basics.
One county over is a HUGE big deal school board recall vote. Jefferson County is a mess and our news is saying that "the nation is watching" this vote. This mess started a year ago when there were proposed changes to the AP US History courses and has evolved to include relevance of teachers unions, pay for performance and equal funding for charter schools.
I'm staring out the window as I wait for a customer's computer to finish a process, and I finally realize what I'm staring at is the sunlight on the small waves on the lake a few miles away.
Eye surgery is in the top three best things to ever happen to me. Maybe top 2.

I'm very grateful I have a bank of office windows that make the vision worth it--a 10-to-20-mile vista of mountains and lake and valley.
One of the grammar schools in San Francisco just instituted an any-gender-run-to-whatever's-nearest restroom policy, and the reaction from parents was, "...So, pretty much exactly like we already do at home. Cool!"
I definitely don't understand why single bathrooms are gendered at all anyway, but even with stalls, I'm pretty neutral on the whole thing.
Most of my college dorm bathrooms and shower rooms were co-Ed by stall. People need to chill.
As an employee of NYC, I get a day off on Election Day! I figured the least I could do was go vote. The ballot consisted of six judicial positions, five of which were uncontested.
