Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Thanks, Amy, I was just getting ready to ask if anyone had heard from Cindy. Glad she's ok.

Also, Buzzfeed with a well written, interesting article? Well, how about that!

I've got one more day to decide on the muumuu question. Today I will wear my black and white striped harem pants, which are kind of obnoxious but I have been slowly desensitizing my coworkers to my loud taste in patterns so I think I can get away with it if I can stop myself from also wearing the black and white striped shrug.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's not "Buzzfeed," it's Anne Helen Peterson! She's been doing great work for years, there and elsewhere.

You want me to remember an actual name? Actually, I might: three names with three different numbers if syllables like that seem to stick in my head pretty well.

I am pretty tired of the competing-visions-of-femininity paradigm. I hope Jolie's new narrative does something about that.

I am also tired of clinging to daylight savings time when we do not have surplus daylight to move around. Maybe I should see about changing my start time to 9:15 until dst ends...

I mean, you don't have to, but she is great. Here she is on Rock Hudson: [link]

Because books.

I had not heard of her, Jesse! I'll look for her other stuff.

She has a PhD, in gossip! (she really does)

Because books.

Seriously? That's sort of cool.

Punishingly Intricate

Buzzfeed has been cultivating serious journalistic talent for a while now I thought.
