Yearly evaluation time is done, woot! I'm getting a $50/month raise, woot-ish! Probably 30 a month after taxes, but hey, that most of a regular bill. By the end of the week I should know if I get to finally move over to the QA team, and I found out my current manager recommended me. Apparently me and the other person who's been here the longest are showing signs of losing all patience with our customers, so he approves of me finding a different way to use my experience. I'm appreciated! I don't have to go into manager meetings thinking (quite so much) "Am I about to be fired?" I may get to stay here till retirement.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My day has included translating a washing machine manual from Italian, line by line in google translate.

I'm glad you're appreciated, Connie!

I have not started writing my performance review. It's due at the end of today. Ugh.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, flea, that's super yucky. I hope he doesn't turn out to be a bad man after all.

All Buffistas should be appreciated! And get raises.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I need expert advice! Remember that gas explosion in downtown Seattle that took out a few commercial buildings? My BF Katie lives in a building right next to that and her building was damaged. Turns out they found ASBESTOS in her building! Now her landlord says she has two days to get all her stuff out before the asbestos remediation people destroy it.

If it's safe for her to go back into her place, is it safe for her to touch her stuff? Should the landlord even be letting people get their stuff if the asbestos people planned to destroy it? Needless to say, Katie doesn't want to destroy all her books and comics and souvenirs! Does anyone know anything about asbestos?

Librarian Warlord

I know nothing about asbestos.

DC metro is shutting down the whole system for 29 hours starting at midnight. This will be a mess. My University is operating normally, but the Feds are getting unsheduled leave/telework options. We had someone in town, that I think we will not get to see, now.

Flea, that's awful. I'm sorry.

Zen, I'm not sure about asbestos. I've seen things on reno shows where they find it and have to deal, but they don't go into health and safety that deeply. And I'm not sure HGTV would be my first stop go medical advice anyway--it's just not their field.
