Riley: Oh, yeah. Sorry 'bout last time. Heard I missed out on some fun. Xander: Oh yeah, fun was had. Also frolic, merriment and near-death hijinks.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think all I have left to do for work today is work on self-eval.

Let's see what I come up with to procrastinate...

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy birthday, Tom!

Go, Zen!

I woke up around 2:40 am with an insistent headache that quickly escalated, so I hit it with an ibu and a tylenol. Woke up to no pain but also very fuzzy brain and I'm only now approaching my normal level of function. Erk. Good thing I'm on break next week (for values of break that include lots of conference prep and grading but no classes), I need it.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Did you get the MotoG? Mine sometimes does that, though I just assumed it was our network causing the delay.

I did, yes. Moto G 3rd Gen. It's been pretty good until now. So I'm backing up all my data right now (which will take HOURS) before trying a factory reset.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's nice how Hamilton has the right song for every mood. It's a beautiful Friday at the end of my Week of Rage, so: "And when push comes to shove, I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love! Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da!"

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

It's nice how Hamilton has the right song for every mood.

For DAYS, mine has been "AWESOME! WOW!" Though I'm in no way as fabulous as King George III, because who could be?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I keep hearing "I want to be in the room where it happens" ... but I had a huge crush on Aaron Burr when I was in my teens.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

Still no work today. I'm now getting lunch at The Growling Rabbit on Sheridan. Tonight Anne and I are going to have dinner at my favorite Ethiopian place in Uptown.

Off-topic (but nattering), I wanted to share this - an orphaned bat named Jackie Sparrow ... being sponsored by Johnny Depp (one brief photo of him as Jack Sparrow).
