I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That seems like a right response.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

The CIA has a job opening for a librarian. [link]

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I'm sorry, Dana. And I hate phone rejections. You're so put on the spot to be polite and mature and understanding so you don't burn any bridges, and I feel like when you don't get a job you were really hoping for, you deserve the space to have your first reaction be weeping or cursing or slamming doors.

No phone call back from the breast imaging center, huzzah! I'm not officially in the clear till I get the letter with the results...but no news has always been good news, so I'm going to assume the best.

I wouldn't mind keeping DST all year, but I wouldn't want to keep standard time. I treasure my long summer evenings too much, and I swear it'd start getting light in Seattle at like 3:30 AM around the summer solstice if it wasn't for DST.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Done with work. Not that I worked OT today. I put in 3 hours, went to get CJ's suit and shop for a few remaining things, worked 3 more hours, went to get a haircut and pick up prescriptions, worked for 3.5 more hours - crap, I guess I did work more than 8. Not that I'll get paid OT this week, but I can sleep in tomorrow instead.

When do we spring forward? I should look that up.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Saw the first Bernie add today. The only other I've seen is a very confusing one for Rubio, who, it assures me, "Stood up to the Republican establishment--and WON!". Huh?

I assume it's referring to when he won the nomination for the Senate seat in 2010 over Charlie Crist.

Because books.

We spring forward on Saturday night.

Hey, did all the Leverage fans know that Aldis Hodge is the lead in Underground, which starts tomorrow on WGN? Also Jurnee Smollett, who is also an FNL alum.

I can't tell anymore: which thread would this be discussed in? Is WGN basic cable, or broadcast?

Thrive to spite them

That looks interesting.

In a side note I can't believe there's goign to be another Jack Reacher movie with Tom Cruise. I'll have to wait for it come out on streaming and fast forward for Aldis Hodge's parts.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm sorry Dana, but hoping for good news from the dream job

And I'm not at all surprised to hear you are loved and supported by your coworkers, sarameg

So the question is, what do I do? If I'm invited to campus, how do I address this concern? Because their dishonesty makes me a lot less interested in the job now, and I think they should know that. But I want to tell them so professionally.

I'm with Consuela in asking but keeping it non-acusatory. I like the "I'm confused" line. But also bear in mind they have just revealed a few of their cards and you now know that, in addition to closing the branch, they are also the kind of university where the administration either condones or encourages a top-down culture. I'd assume any other big changes would be dealt with in pretty much the same way.
