And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Gud, I second and third all the things other people have said. One thing I learned in Stage Management really helped me stop beating myself up about mistakes- when you are doing a show, and are thinking about the mistake you just made, you tend to screw up the next several things. So I had a stage manager, who everytime something bad happened would just say- "Take a note". We just took a note, and moved on. Then, when things weren't so immediate, she would have us look at it and see if there was something we could do in the future to prevent it. Sometimes there was, sometimes there wasn't. But I "take a note" in my life now, too and I find it really helpful to stop the negative self talk.

So, yesterday I came out to wait for the bus, and there was crime tape blocking the street in and out near my house. Turns out there was an armed man in one of the apartment complexes near me, and the police took him out with a sniper!!!! Supposedly they evacuated people, but I didn't get evaqcuated!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yikes, Sophia! I think I'm glad you weren't all stressed about it at the time it was happening, but damn!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy crap!

I saw the street was blocked off, but I thought there must have been a car accident! I was just annoyed because I had to walk a block, but because Rochester's Streets are like bicycle spokes, a block is actually 2 miles!

I didn't know what had happened until last night when my friend's husband asked me if I knew anything about the sniper near my house!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Email from Nashville, asking if he's free to talk at 1PM. Probably a good sign, right? If they were going to turn him down at this stage, would they bother to have a call? Maybe they would, though. All that stuff I said earlier about not stressing is gone.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Wow, Sophia!

Boob-smashing endured, McDs being eaten, after which point I'll go into work and pray my phone doesn't ring.

Good sign, Dana. I don't think they'd call to say "we're going in a different direction" or whatever.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't think they'd set up a time for a call just to tell him he didn't get the job.

Yikes on the sniper sitch, Sophia!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yikes, Sophia! Glad you weren't in it! Hope everyone's okay now. Also, "take a note" is a good way to deal with the inevitability of mistakes.

Safe travels and fun trip, meara!

Connie, I'll add a couple more points of anecdata to yours: I definitely feel the difference in my joints and my skin when I stop taking my fave glucosamine formula, and my BFF swears she can tell a difference within a couple days if she stops. I haven't used Osteo-Biflex before but it looks like a similar formula to mine.

In work news, my new editor-in-chief is making me feel like I'm a terrible editor. I've never questioned my own ability like this before. I've been doing this journal since November and I still can't seem to get a handle on what he wants. And now I've made the mistake of asking my boss for advice. When will I learn not to involve her with anything ever?

Our wings are not tired.

I like that! The sniper news not so much.

Sounds encouraging to me, Dana. I wouldn't schedule a turn down call.

Quick good results ~ma, Susan.
