So tired of Oprah and her bread.
I came down with con crud and have been off sick from work the past two days. I've mostly been sleeping, taking drugs to deal with the terrible headaches, coughing, and occasionally shambling into the kitchen for food and tea.
I have never heard before today about Oprah and her bread, but I kinda wish we lived in the kinda culture where people could just love their bread, or their avocados, or their kombucha or whatever.
Today was verrrrrry long, long Friday of a long week. I am ready for a day off. Oh wait, gotta grade this weekend. pllllbbbt! Well in that case I'm taking tonight off from grading PERIOD.
I have been such a sloth this winter that I can't stand it anymore, so I'm going to go for a good walk this afternoon, via TJMax and Trader Joe's. Maybe I'll actually do laundry this morning? You would think that waking up at 7 would mean I got something done before lunch at the nursing home, but in general, you would be wrong!
I'm heading off to the farmers market as soon as the Tottenham-Arsenal game is over. It's a nice, half mile walk away, which I will probably cap off with an apple fritter. I'm sensing the first glimmers of some spring cleaning energy, and I'm hoping I can channel them into tackling the spare room. There's some stuff there that I've been meaning to deal with since my dad died in '09.
Tim is making scrambled eggs, and yelled from the kitchen "Do you want anything with the eggs? Some sort of Oprah thing?"
Me: "Wut?"
Tim: "Bread? Toast? Bagel?"
I've been to market and am consuming an empanada and then will do the rest of my shopping. And a roof inspection will happen this weekend. It will.
I wish happiness and health for Ophrah but after watching her yo-yo diet her way through the decades, I'll reserve my judgment on the efficacy of WW for her and by extention, me, until I see how she's doing 18 months after she reaches her goal weight.
So I bought a big thing of blueberries at the supermarket, and they are really disappointing. (The ones a couple of weeks ago were good!) So what can I do with them that's not turning them into baked goods??
